Our research interest has been focused on development of highly active and universally applicable Lewis acid catalysts and their novel reaction processes for green & sustainable chemistry (GSC).
We have developed a number of highly active fluorous Lewis acids which can be used in fluorous biphasic system (FBS). We have studied on fluorous Lewis acid-catalyzed reaction processes for practical use.
Fluorous solvents are generally used in FBS including fluorous Lewis acid catalysis. However, it will be important for GSC to choose reaction medium as well as to design catalysts in the near future. Thus, we also proceed with research in the field of green reaction processes in fluorous system without fluorous solvent, aqueous system without organic solvent, ionic liquid system, and supercritical carbon dioxide system.
We have aimed at establishment of innovative industrial processes by development of novel conceptual catalysts and their reaction processes.
